    • 5 Axis Self Centring VicesOur range of low profile, compact self-centring 5th axis vices have been engineered to be the ideal solution for your multi-axis machining needs. Available in four different sizes, with either a 75mm or 125mm jaw width, each vice utilises a pair of serrated 45° dovetail jaws to clamp onto components. Dovetail jaws allow you to grip a component, with matching dovetails machined into the bottom of the workpiece, on minimal stock but with extremely high clamping force. In turn, this allows users to machine on five sides of the workpiece with ease with minimal material wastage. The jaws also incorporate a measuring rule as a guide to find the central position. The Tuscan range of self-centring 5th axis vices have been designed to withstand the pressure and force of CNC machining, and with Tuscan, you can be assured these vices have been manufactured to exacting standards using premium materials. We stock quality made and best priced 5 axis vices on the UK market. Get in touch today for a fast response to enquiries.

Why Switch to the Tuscan 52 | 96 Zero Point Workholding System?

The Tuscan 52 | 96 Zero Point workholding system is rapidly becoming the go-to solution for manufacturers who want enhanced efficiency, precision, and flexibility in their machining processes. Below are the key reasons why machinists, manufacturers, and CNC operators are opting for this advanced zero-point clamping system.

1. Time-Saving Setup Efficiency

Quick Setups and Changeovers: The zero-point clamping system drastically reduces setup time. Traditional workholding methods often require lengthy alignment and clamping, but with the Tuscan 52 | 96 system, you can switch between jobs quickly and efficiently.

Reduced Operator Interventions: Once the system is in place, parts are accurately located, minimising the need for constant checks and adjustments. This results in reduced downtime and smoother workflow.

2. Unmatched Precision & Repeatability

Accurate Clamping: The Tuscan 52 | 96 Zero Point system guarantees accurate part positioning, thanks to precise locating pins and clamping units. This high-precision system eliminates the need for reworking parts, which is vital for industries requiring tight tolerances.

Repeatable Setup: This system ensures repeatable results with every part, boosting part quality and reducing errors during production runs.

3. More Robust Than Aluminium Systems

Stronger Steel Construction: Unlike many systems made from aluminium, the Tuscan 52 | 96 Zero Point system is crafted from high-strength steel, making it far more robust and durable. Steel is inherently stronger and less prone to wear and deformation under heavy machining loads, providing a longer service life and greater reliability in demanding production environments.

Ideal for Heavy-Duty Operations: The steel construction ensures the system is suitable for more intensive operations compared to 5th Axis workholding bases made of aluminium, which may not hold up as well under the stress of high-volume or heavy-duty machining.

4. Fully Compatible with 5th Axis Workholding

Same Location Studs: One of the key advantages of the Tuscan 52 | 96 system is that its location studs are the same as those used in 5th Axis workholding systems. This makes the Tuscan 52 | 96 fully compatible with existing 5th Axis fixtures, allowing you to easily integrate it into your current setup without the need for additional tooling or adjustments.

Seamless Integration: Whether you’re upgrading or expanding your workholding capabilities, the Tuscan 52 | 96 Zero Point system ensures a seamless transition, reducing the learning curve and saving time during setup.

5. Flexible & Interchangeable Fixtures

Adaptability for Different Parts: The Tuscan 52 | 96 system is ideal for manufacturers with diverse production needs. It supports interchangeable fixtures, allowing you to easily handle a wide range of part geometries. You can switch fixtures quickly without losing accuracy.

Multi-Machine Capability: This zero-point system also makes it easy to transfer parts between different machines (CNCs, grinders, etc.) without the need to re-fixture, saving time and increasing flexibility in multi-machine environments.

6. Increased Productivity & Faster ROI

More Machine Uptime: By reducing setup and clamping time, machines can focus more on cutting and production, increasing overall productivity.

Lower Scrap Rates: The precision of the Tuscan 52 | 96 system results in fewer errors and less material waste, which maximises yield and reduces scrap, ultimately increasing your ROI.

7. Cost-Effective in the Long Term

While the initial investment in a zero-point workholding system might be higher, the long-term benefits—such as faster setups, fewer errors, and increased throughput—make it a sound investment for manufacturers aiming to optimise their production processes.

The flexibility and durability of the system mean it can evolve with your production needs, making it a cost-effective solution over the long run.

8. Automation Compatibility

The Tuscan 52 | 96 Zero Point system is designed for seamless integration with automation systems, enabling smooth interaction with robotic arms and automated loading/unloading systems. This enhances precision while reducing human intervention in high-volume operations.

9. Standardised and Streamlined Operations

The zero-point clamping system creates a standardised setup, allowing operators to follow consistent, easy-to-understand processes. This reduces the learning curve for new operators and enhances overall efficiency.

10. Versatility for Multi-Operation Machining

The Tuscan 52 | 96 Zero Point system is ideal for parts requiring multiple operations, such as milling, drilling, and grinding. The system allows manufacturers to perform all operations without having to unclamp and reposition the workpiece, saving time and improving machining accuracy.

By adopting the Tuscan 52 | 96 Zero Point workholding system, manufacturers can achieve faster setups, enhanced precision, and greater flexibility, leading to increased productivity and cost savings. Whether you’re working with CNC machines or integrating automation into your production line, this zero-point clamping solution is designed to optimise your operations, providing measurable returns on investment while offering a more robust, steel-based alternative to traditional 5th Axis workholding systems.
